Red Velvet Donuts from Wonderland Edibles Review

Red Velvet Donuts from Wonderland Edibles Review

My favorite local dispensary just began carrying Wonderland Edibles, and I couldn’t be happier about this.  After just my first experience with these little hoops of awesome, I’ve been hooked.  It all begins with their chocolate brown packaging and vintage design scheme.  I’m a sucker for well styled package design, and Wonderland Edibles’ presentation is superb.  Of course, the most important feature of the label is that it contains THC counts.  I cannot stress enough that this should be a baseline for all edible packaging.  With Wonderland Edibles mini-donuts, you get 180mg for the whole box, equalling out to 36mg each donut.  I was also impressed with how quickly the edibles ended up in the dispensaries.  The manufactured date printed on the package was just ten short days before I bought them.  Because they were kept in fridge at OCPC, they were incredibly fresh.  Even after being left out for a few days in my desk drawer, they remained moist.

The ingredients list is straight-forward: medical cannabis, unsalted butter, cocoa, flour, sugar, cream cheese, powdered sugar, Red 40, Vanilla, egg, milk, and salt.  These edibles do contain egg, dairy, and wheat, not to mention the vibrant Red 40 food coloring, so if you have food limitations, you are largely out of luck for the red velvet donuts.  However, Wonderland Edibles offers several other flavors, including carrot cake and banana nut, that may better accommodate your dietary needs.

These donuts are amazingly fluffy, with a texture more like a cupcake than a donut.  So rich.  So good.  But be careful, they are small, so they are a fast eat.  I dare you to try and savor them, or even eat only one.  They are just a bit greasy, as most potent edibles are.  It is certainly nothing more than a quick wipe of the hand can’t handle.

I first noticed a comforting body high, warming away any tension and anxiety.  There is some mind distraction, and problems melt away along with your physical aches and pains.  Largely, I had no problem being active, making these donuts a nice complement to your coffee in the morning to start your day.
