Mary Jane’s Kickin’ Cookies from 420 Degrees Bakeshop Edible Review

Chocolate Chip Cookies from 420 Degrees Bakeshop Edible Review

One fateful day when I was younger, my mother had just filled the house with the scent of hot, gooey chocolate chip cookies, and my sister and I rushed to the table as she set them down in front of us.  I was closing my eyes and biting into the warm disc of happy childhood memories when my sister blurted out, “I like Oreos better.”   I spun to look at my sister, then my mother.  She didn’t say a word, but those were the last chocolate chip cookies my mother ever baked.  To this day, the rare smell of fresh made cookies makes me weak in the knees.  So after 420 Degrees Bakeshop contacted the Review about sending samples to the office, I spent the next few days watching out our mail slot, like the family dog waiting for the mail.  When their package finally arrived, I tore into it like Christmas morning, and there, sitting among the other baked goods, were a pair of Mary Jane’s Kickin’ Cookies.

The cookies were a bit stale after their trip through the mail, but popping them in the microwave with a small cup of water solved that issue and brought them back to their fresh from the oven condition, volcanically melting chocolate chips and all.  Everything about these cookies screams homemade, like having your GamGam get you high.  Medicated cookies often taste manufactured, but these edibles had a slight, almost complementary cannabis taste.

In the grand fashion, I enjoyed the two cookies with a glass of milk on the back porch late in the afternoon–dunking them, of course.  The high started with a mood elevating warmth and a sense of contentment that is perfect for rounding out your day.  This is followed by a relaxing body melt that is effective for minor aches and muscle soreness brought on by a hard day’s work.  A sort of edible yoga, these cookies set my mind in the right mood and my body in the right state for the remainder of my afternoon.
