530 Edibles Chocolate Macaron Edibles Review

530 Edibles Chocolate Macaron Edibles Review

I had no idea what a macaron was until my girlfriend’s birthday two years ago.  As we were rousing that morning, I asked her if there was anything in particular she wanted to do for her special day.  She responded that all she needed to make her day complete was to eat macarons.  I had no idea what she was talking about, but I hopped online and found the bakery deemed to have the best macarons in Chicago.  After a short ride on the El, we arrived at their steps.  However, I was struck dumbfounded when we walked up to the counter.  Nearly two dollars for a tiny cookie!  I didn’t get it.  Then I tried one.

A true macaron is a work of art — one of the most difficult of all pastries to create.  And first crafted in France in 791, it is one of great tradition.  There are many variables you need to get perfect to bake macarons, and it is easy for them to turn out wrong.  However, 530 Edibles has Josh, an ENSP trained pastry chef, crafting their treats, so you know these macarons will be delectable.

530 Edibles uses a natural card stock box and fantastic labelling for their all their baked edibles.  A slit cut into the edge of the container allows you to fold back the top to reveal two delicately pink macarons, complemented with rich chocolate filling.  With packaging and product reveal like this, 530 Edibles’ macarons can work well as a present for your dinner hostess, in shower gift bags, or simply as a surprise for a loved one.

Macarons are best when incredibly fresh.  But even with the travel time down from Northern California, these treats were still moist yet crispy, as they were intended.  We set time aside the day we got them to test one package as quickly as possible.  The rest were kept in the fridge for a later date.  Each macaron has a delicate egg shell coating two pillowy, airy cakes, sandwiched around a smooth chocolate filling.  There was an unmistakable cannabis taste, which can be expected from such a potent treat, but it’s not enough to be a negative; some patients even prefer a slight, well accompanied cannabis flavor.  Each macaron contains 35 mg of THC.  This is plenty for most users, and beginners may want to eat half or less to ensure proper dosing.

The high these edibles produce is mellow, but uplifting, thanks to the limited CBN and high THC counts.  The sativa leaning effects of these treats are a delightful addition to an espresso in the morning or tea late in the afternoon to push through to the end of the day.  It works equally well, though, after dinner to help promote activity and engaging discussion when in the company of friends.  No matter how you choose to enjoy them, these macarons are a brilliant way to medicate.
