Strain of the Week: Aug. 16, 2015 (Agent Orange)

Agent Orange is a highly toxic herbicide that was developed in the middle of the last century and was famously used in the conflict in Vietnam.  However, it seems this awful stuff was sprayed across the tropics, killings large swatches of jungle and tens of thousands of humans along the way.  An odd name choice in name for a cannabis strain, it may be a nod to the United State’s fond use of equally toxic herbicides, specifically Paraquat, to combat marijuana fields in Mexico.  However, I think we can all agree that Agent Orange is a much cooler name than Paraquat OG.

The brainchild of TGA Genetics, Agent Orange is a hybrid of Orange Velvet and Jack the Ripper, the latter boasting a lineage that includes Jack Herer and, site favorite, Space Queen.  Agent Orange exhibits an absolutely succulent and sweet citrusy orange flavor, its most telling characteristic.  With a high that is focused and productive, our Strain of the Week is a dynamic daytime strain.  Intense on the onset with a heady rush, the high becomes clear-headed as time goes on.  An uplifting strain, patients will find it most effective for relief from depression.
