Strain of the Week: June 28, 2015 (Deadhead OG)

The Grateful Dead began this week playing a set of shows in San Francisco, and they will end it the same way this 4th of July weekend in Chicago, where the band played their last shows with Jerry Garcia nearly 20 years ago to the day.  So being the Deadheads that we are here at the Review, we thought it fitting to dedicate this week’s Strain of the Week to the band’s farewell tour and thank them for 50 years of music.

And of course, no other strain makes as much sense as tribute than Deadhead OG.  A hybrid of Chemdawg and SFV OG Kush, Deadhead OG is a sativa dominant strain, perfect for daytime use.  With a skunky, funky scent, not unlike a bus full of Heads, there are hints of pine, fuel, and lemon in the green hit.  Deadhead OG creates a reposed, but energetic sort of a high, as refreshing as a nap in the sun.  Most effective against depression but relaxing enough to calm chronic anxiety, Deadhead OG is sure to add a glow to the gloomiest of days.
