DJ Short Blueberry from Bristol Pharms Medical Marijuana Review

Although I’ve seen DJ Short Blueberry as part of the genetics in a few strains over the years, I had never had the opportunity to isolate it.  On a recent visit to Bristol Pharms, I was fortunate enough to encounter it on the menu in its original form.  There has been some argument as to where to classify this strain: indica or sativa dominant?  In reality, it is about a 50/50 mix, boasting Blueberry and Skunk genetics.  The Skunk seemingly yanks the Blueberry pretty firmly to the middle.

My first opinion of the bud’s aesthetics is that the growers have to trim that sugar leaf.  As I’ve said in the past, these leaves have a place.  It is not attached to my nugget.  That said, these almost neon green buds are plastered with milky tan trichomes.  The amber to brown hairs combine with the perfectly ripe trichomes to illustrate a patient, skillful harvest.  The smell is immediately dark berry and even slightly pungent.  However, this is different from the putrid purple terpene and is instead an almost sweet skunky musk.

I found the little-bit-of-both style of effects present here to be too measured for effective relief.  It was a sliver of indica, but not enough for any real pain relief or to cure your insomnia.  I was left up well into the early morning hours, and it never came through with precious sleep.  On the other hand, it wasn’t sativa enough to produce effective treatment for anxiety or depression.  It tip-toed the line so closely that it never seemed to land on either side.  It wasn’t a weak strain by any understanding.  It just lackedpersonality.
